Craig Ferguson – Not Afraid To Do Things Differently
One of the reasons I love Craig is that he’s never afraid to take risks and do things differently on his show. There are countless examples of episodes Craig has stepped outside the box, but here are just two examples that brilliantly illustrate my point:
Craig Ferguson on Britney Spears
This is old news by now, but I had to include this video because this is one of the monologues that really got me liking Craig Ferguson. Back when Britney Spears was in the tabloids every day and going crazy, pretty much everyone was taking cheap shots at her, especially on late night talk shows. I’m not really a Britney fan, but I felt bad for the poor woman for having to deal with so much bullshit so publicly. In this monologue, Craig talked about his own issues and spoke out against all the Britney-bashing.
Craig Ferguson – Istanbul
It’s crap like this that really makes The Late Late Show stand out in late night tv. Craig Ferguson is never afraid to take risks on the show, and that’s why I love him. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but the show is constantly evolving thanks to Craig’s enthusiasm and willingness to break out of old routines.
Craig Ferguson’s Book – American On Purpose
American On Purpose is a must-read for fans of Craig Ferguson. The book is funny, touching and inspiring. It details his life growing up in Scotland, his years living as an alcoholic and the start of his career in the U.S.
The book provides insight to how Ferguson got to where he is today and is an incredibly entertaining read.
You can buy Craig’s book (aff) on Amazon.
